This unique project stands out for its simplicity and clean lines. The use of gentle wood materials, combined with a harmonious color palette of white and gray, creates a multi-layered space that is both relaxing and inviting. The design team's focus on creating a warm and modern home for newlyweds who travel frequently is evident in the open public area and the study room, which feature clear glass as dividers, allowing for ample ventilation and natural light.
One of the standout features of the Twilight Forest residence is its integration of the surrounding maple forest. The design team capitalized on the site's proximity to the forest by incorporating the beauty of the changing seasons into everyday life. The use of clear glass and strategically placed windows allows residents to enjoy the vibrant red leaves of autumn and the lush greenery throughout the year.
The realization of the Twilight Forest design involved the use of KD coating board, EGGER system board, LED lamps, organ curtains, tiles, clear glass, and aluminum frames. These materials were carefully selected to ensure both aesthetic appeal and functionality.
With an interior design area of approximately 82.644 square meters, the Twilight Forest residence features a layout comprising three bedrooms and two public areas. The entrance, living room, dining room, kitchen, study room, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms are thoughtfully arranged to maximize space and create a seamless flow throughout the residence.
The design team faced several challenges during the renovation process, as the site was a more than 20-year-old house. Overcoming issues such as pipeline and wall repairs, as well as the tension caused by ceiling beams, required innovative solutions. The use of beveled KD coating plates effectively concealed the beams, while geometric color blocks eliminated any visual defects, resulting in a spacious and comfortable visual aesthetic.
The Twilight Forest residence not only brings nature indoors but also creates a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces. The integration of natural elements, combined with the use of organ curtains to reduce shading, allows residents to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding greenery and distant mountain views. The careful selection of environmentally friendly green building materials ensures a sustainable and eco-conscious living environment.
The Twilight Forest residence, completed in August 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan, is a testament to the design team's creativity and attention to detail. Its modern and minimalist style, combined with its seamless integration of nature, has earned it the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award recognizes the outstanding design and innovative approach of the Twilight Forest residence, which contributes to improving the quality of life for its residents.
